STO NovaBus LFS Timeline

  • 2002: The first units are purchased. (9 units)
  • 2003: 13 units are purchase with same specs as the 2002 (except the A/C unit). 15 more are purchased with larger taillights and a new transmission.
  • 2004: 17 more units are purchased.
  • 2005: 17 more units are purchased. The destination signs all have a new design.
  • 2006: 17 more units are purchased.
  • 2007: The first 2 Hybrid units are purchased (The first ever built) with different style head lights. 14 more units are purchased with the old style head lights and with Voith transmissions.
  • 2008: 19 17 more units are purchased.
  • 2009: 10 more units are purchased (Last 2 gens). 15 more units are purchased (First 3rd gens) with new design front and rear.
  • 2010: 27 more units are purchased.
  • 2011: 7 more units are purchased with a new A/C unit.
  • 2012: 7 more units are purchased with a new A/C unit. 26 articulated units are also purchased.
  • 2013: 21 articulated units are purchased.
  • 2014: 14 articulated units are purchased (First 4th gens) with a new design rear.
  • 2015: 7 Hybrid units are purchased. The STO only buys Hybrid buses from this point on.
  • 2016: The first Articulated-Hybrid units are purchased (9 units) with 7 more 40ft Hybrid units.
  • 2017: 15 Articulated-Hybrid units are purchased and 15 40ft Hybrid units are purchased.
  • 2018: 17 Hybrid are units purchased. 10 more units are purchased with a new design batter pack and a new driver'd window.
  • 2019: 9 Hybrid units are purchased.
  • 2020: 43 Hybrid units are purchased. This order features a full roof top and new destination signs.

Any benefit to the full rooftop vs the partial one? I guess aerodynamics are superior?
